I think I've just found a film that will kill me dead - Unbound Captives which has announced casting that includes Hugh Jackman and Robert Pattinson. And it's a period piece.

If there was a ever a film that didn't need to be remade it's The Day The Earth Stood Still - the very pinnacle of Cold War Sci-Fi movies that were more about Communists than anything else.
